More monotypes_2-11-2025

Well, it was our 2nd to last printmaking class, so only 1 more to go. I've really enjoyed it, especially since I was able to share the whole experience with my partner (who's been doing some really good stuff btw). Went into class again not really knowing what to do, so I went to work in the sketch book to make a detailed sketch of a piece that I didn't want any detail in.

Yeah, it didn't really go down this way...

It was more like this. This is actually WAY closer to what I wanted than I anticipated I would get though. Remember, always keep your hopes super low so you're never disappointed. (WIP, 2 color runs, red and blue. Prob going to selectively add stuff to finish it up)

I think that's pretty much all I got done. The rest of these are from last week's class. I'm pretty happy with the way these turned out as well, the "Moss Patina" portrait in particular

This one. The plate slipped on the last color run, so the top is a mess, but it's ok, it's just a bleed print now.

I think this one came out ok too. I'm really tempted to go over it with some pastels, but I'll probably leave as is.

All of these 3 were actually from the same plate. It's so cool that you can get such variety so easily. I guess you only get 1 though, so that's a drawback I suppose.

This was the first one I pulled from the plate. I think it was mostly uphill from here.

All in all, it was another fun class, that yielded some decent results. Kind of bummed that next week is our last class, but I have a feeling this won't be the last time we do some printmaking this year....
